Pop! La puesta en escena de nuestro "folklore urbano"
El pop se instala con fuerza en la escena artística argentina de los años sesenta. No se trata sólo de un repertorio renovado de temas, técnicas y formas plásticas, sino de un verdadero quiebre en los modos de pensar, crear y vivir. En este contexto, las artes escénicas se aproximan al fenómeno pop y al happening. Impulsado por un grupo de artistas vinculados a la tendencia, una nueva sensibilidad definida localmente como “pop lunfardo”, se subirá al escenario, sobre todo al del Instituto Di Tella, para representar la narrativa de la historieta, la música popular, los jingles publicitarios, los figurines de la moda y los personajes de la cultura masiva. Al mismo tiempo, también cuestionará las formas del teatro y la danza tradicionales y los clichés y el conservadurismo de las convenciones sociales. En el presente artículo propongo una aproximación a las producciones escénicas del pop a la luz de los desarrollos de aquellos años y también de las reflexiones actuales sobre el tema.

Pop! La puesta en escena de nuestro "folklore urbano"
Pop art establishes itself strongly in the artistic Argentine scene of the sixties. It is not only a matter of topics, techniques and forms, but a real change in the way of thinking, creating and living. In this context, performing arts come closer to the pop phenomenon and to happenings. Stimulated by a group of artists linked to the trend, a new sensitivity defined in local terms as “pop lunfardo”, will be raised to the scene, especially in the Di Tella Institute, to represent the narrative of comics, the popular music, the advertising jingles, the fashion figures and the characters of the massive culture. At the same time, the traditional forms of theatre and dance, and also the clichés and the conservatism of the social conventions will be question. In the present article I propose an approximation to the scenic pop productions in the light of the developments of those years and also of the current ideas on the topic.
